    Indicative Development Projects & Investment Pipeline

    This document presents indicative development projects planned by Mukuju District to guide government planning, private sector investment, and Public–Private Partnership (PPP)
    engagement. All projects are subject to approval and procurement in line with the laws of the
    Republic of Uganda.

    Roads & Transport Infrastructure

    District Road Development Programme – Phase I: Construction and upgrading of priority district and community access roads to improve connectivity to markets, schools, and health facilities.
    • Mukuju Town – Central Market Road: 10 km gravel road with drainage and culverts
    • Mukuju – Subcounty Community Access Road: 7 km including opening, shaping, and spot
    graveling
    • Agricultural Feeder Roads (clustered): 15 km serving production areas
    Total indicative road length: 30–35 km

    Markets & Commercial Infrastructure

    Public Markets Development Programme to strengthen trade and local revenue collection. • Mukuju Central Market: Modern covered market for 400–500 vendors with lock-up shops and
    sanitation
    • Subcounty Growth Centre Market: Rural market for 150–250 vendors with produce sheds and
    stall

    Health Facilities Expansion Programme aimed at improving access to primary healthcare services. • Health Centre III: OPD, maternity ward, staff quarters, solar power, and sanitation
    • Health Centre II: OPD, drug store, and basic staff accommodatio

    Education Facilities Improvement Programme to expand access to quality learning environments. • Government Primary School: 8 classrooms, administration block, teachers’ houses, latrines
    • Seed Secondary School: 6 classrooms, science laboratory, library/ICT room, sanitation
